Career as a player – James started playing football at 7 years of age at the Marsa sports ground and joined Rabat till the age of 13. At the age of 14 he joined Mosta were he played for several years. Others clubs James played for were Dingli Swallows and Sirens F.C.

James started playing Futsal at the age of 28 with 2nd division teams. In 2005-2006 he joined Scandals Futsal in the local Futsal 1st Division league

Achievements in Futsal –

  • 2007-2008 MFA Futsal Champions with Scandals Futsal
  • Joined Malta Futsal National team in 2007/2008
  • Captain of  Malta Futsal National team  during qualifiers in 2009/2010
  • August 2008 – Participated in the Preliminary Round with Scandals Futsal for the UEFA Futsal Cup
  • 2008-2009 Scandals Futsal 1st Division and joined Pentagon Futsal 1st Division – Won 3rd best MFA player of the year.
  • 2009-2010 Joined Z.C. Excess(Lazio) Futsal 1st Division, who became MFA Champions in the same season.
  • August 2010 – Participated in the Preliminary Round with Z.C. Excess Lazio for the UEFA Futsal Cup
  • 2010 – 2011 MFA Futsal Champions with Z.C. Excess Lazio

Career in coaching – James has obtained the basic coaching license to coach a first division Futsal team in 2010 and also forms part of the Mosta football nursery. James has been coaching the school’s kids since January 2012
