Please note that due to works in progress at the Corradino Sports Pavillion in Paola, training sessions for children born before year 2003 will be held at the De La Salle College in Cospicua.

Training session for the Summer Camp 2012 will commence on Thursday 12th July at 5pm and end on the 31st August.

The Malta Futsal School would like to thank all those who contributed in raising funds for Puttinu Cares. During this year’s event, the Malta Futsal School helped raising funds by participating in 2 games between members of the school. Games were held on Sunday the 6th of May, 2012.

Prices, Venues and Inquiry Form

For the second year running, the Malta Futsal School is currently underway with sessions being held once weekly at De La Salle College.

MFS is open for boys and girls aged between 6 and 14 years of age and is based on specialized Futsal training which in turn helps players build the basic skills and fundamentals of a football player. The school offers a free trial for those interested before becoming school members and is currently open for new memberships. Since players need to be aged 16 to play in the local Futsal league, the school shall of next year hold a session for players aged between 14 and 16 years. This is being done to enable school members to follow their ambition to play in the local Futsal league and also to enable all those kids who want to try and play this exciting sport.

The Malta Futsal School would like to thank the Malta Futsal National team coach Mr. Vic Hermans for his contribution given towards the school during his term. He has recently visited the school and stressed the importance of this sport. He wished all members the best of luck and encouraged them to train as hard as they can as who knows, one day they might be able to represent their country.

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October, the Malta Futsal School children took part in the ’Inspire 50 hour Sports Marathon’ held at the Corradino Sports Pavillion in Paola.

Our members generously donated collectively the amount of €170.00. These funds were given to the Inspire Foundation to help other children with special needs.

Malta Futsal School

Following last season’s success, the Malta Futsal School is looking forward with great enthusiasm to the new season 2011/12. We are also looking forward to re-unite with last season’s members and those entire new members joining for the first time in this coming season.

As of this year, the school will also be open for a 2^nd training session at the MIDI Sliema Wanderers Indoor Sports Complex, Tigne (every Tuesday between 5:30pm and 7:00pm).

The training session at De La Salle College will resume as usual every Thursday between 5:00pm and 6:30pm starting off Thursday the 29^th of September, 2011.

Unfortunately works at the new indoor pitches at the MIDI Sliema Wanderers Sports Complex are still in progress and they might take till November to be completed.

However, for all those interested in joining the Sliema [Tuesday] class we are offering 2 options:

• Either start with the Class of De La Salle on Thursday and eventually switch to Sliema every Tuesday once works are completed
• Or join the school once the works are completed and have their fee calculated pro-rata by the session.

Whilst apologising for any inconvenience caused, we promise to keep in touch with all those interested joining in Sliema with the most recent updates from the Sliema Sports Complex Management.

The school is offering special prices on fees for members willing to join both sessions during the week. Please feel free to contact us for more information if you are interested.

During the last training session held at De La Salle College, members of the school had the opportunity to meet Carlo Scicluna, the Captain of the Malta Domestic League Champions 2010/11 ZC Excess Lazio Futsal. Carlo presented the two cups which his team won and also made a small speech about his team’s triumphant season. ZC Excess Lazio Futsal are the Maltese Champions for the 2nd year in the running and will once again represent our country in the next Uefa Futsal Cup which is the equivalent to the Uefa Champions league in Football.

Carlo Scicluna, who also plays for the Malta National Team, is one of the coaches in the Malta Futsal School. Carlo had a very memorable season in which he represented our country several times and even scored some important goals. Two of the goals which he will surely never forget were scored against Palestine. The game resulted in the 1st ever win for Malta in a competitive match which was held in a tournament played in Libya last November.

Carlo was also nominated for the ‘Best Futsal Player’ in this years Melita Football Awards in which he placed 2nd..
